What a WhatsApp bomber does
A WhatsApp bombing tool sends a scripted sequence of messages, image shares, contact-card pushes and status updates to a target's number as fast as the platform allows. The flood is designed to make the chat list unreadable and to force the victim to open the app repeatedly.
Because it relies on a logged-in session, it is also a common phishing route. The flood is frequently paired with a message that looks like it comes from a bank, a delivery service or a government department, and the attacker's real goal is the link you tap rather than the volume of messages.
Close the profile-scraping door
The supply chain for WhatsApp bombers is a scraped database of phone numbers. A number becomes an entry the moment it appears in a public profile picture, a status update or a group member list. Tightening your privacy settings is therefore the single most effective preventive step available to you.
Set your last seen and online status to Nobody, restrict who can add you to groups, disable read receipts, and turn off profile picture visibility to contacts only if you do not need it. Each of these removes your number from a different surface that scrapers read.
